Being Two months old is really exciting.

He likes: conversations with mommy and daddy, when mommy sings (he’s the only one), his swing, getting his diaper changed, baths, his activity gym, trying to stick his whole hand in his mouth, baby faces, and being bounced.

He hates: tummy time, going for walks, being in the car, having things put over his head, pacifiers, and when I wipe off his spit up (?).

He’s a very smiley little baby but come 5pm…he’s fussy until bed time. All in all, he is a joy!

My Birth Story

I was always interested in what experience others’ had while I was expecting so I thought I owed it to share my story. It was nothing as I expected it would be.

Seven days past my due date I went in to be induced on Sunday, March 17th at 5:00 pm. Since I was only one centimeter dilated, I had a catheter put in to dilate my cervix overnight. All went well and I was on the way to baby time! Or so I thought. At 2:00 am on Monday the 18th they started low dose pitocin to help kick start contractions. Again, all is fine and on my way to baby time. Right?

At 6:00 am on Monday the 18th the doctor checks me and the catheter didn’t seem to fair so well for me as I was only two centimeters dilated. Awesome. So the doctor breaks my bag and kicks up the pitocin. Ok no problem, I am sure I’ll have this baby by tonight. No such luck.

They kept giving me more and more pitocin and my cervix just didn’t progress very quickly. Baby was just too happy.

So throughout that Monday my contractions were getting stronger and closer together which I was so happy about as that meant something had to be happening! But at the same time I was exhausted…keep in mind I hadn’t had any food since 9:00 pm Sunday the 17th so I was fading.

At 4:00 am on Tuesday the 19th, I couldn’t take it anymore and called for the anesthesiologist to get me an epidural. Note to self for next time: get this earlier than you think. It was amazing and I didn’t feel the actual process at all. Best thing ever!

So now we’re at 6:00 am Tuesday the 19th and still no baby and my bag has been broken for 24 hours…so I get a mild infection which leads to a fever to make me feel like I have the flu. Double awesome. But that’s ok because at 12:00 pm on the 19th the doctor gave me the best news! I was a 10 and we could start pushing soon! I was the happiest miserable person ever!

The actual delivery went ok. The Baby’s heart rate wasn’t recovering so the doctor had to rush things along. He attempted to use a vacuum but since baby T had so much hair, he couldn’t get a suction. Kind of funny, so an episiotomy had to be done. Fine by me, get the baby out already!

And 37 hours after labor started (46 hours after arriving at the hospital) we finally had our baby boy. And I’d go through it all again and again.

Can’t remember the last time I bought any of these so it won’t be hard to avoid… except Morningstar. So disappointed in them! I know its crappy vegan junk food but I like(d) their breakfast “sausages!”
